FOTD - June 9, 2013

This was not my idea. I totally stole the bright pink eye makeup and coral lips from r/makeupaddiction but I got tons of compliments on the bright eye look today. I think I will keep doing this in various fashions this summer. I basically patted a white "browbone" color from the Wet N Wild Color Icon 'Comfort Zone' palette on the inner half of my lids and then packed on the brightest pink color I had on the outer corner, blended the edges, and then popped a dark purple in the crease a bit to add some depth. The pink color is called Hollywood Cerise by Coastal Scents.

Sorry, I look crazy surprised. I always take these FOTD pictures at 8am right when I'm about to leave the house for work and I'm still half asleep.

My Week in Photos (May 28th-June 4th)

1.) Loving some Rimmel Show off lip lacquer in Apocalyptic

 

2. ) Boyfriend brought me home flowers from his restaurant!! I love surprise flowers and I loooove peonies. 

 

3. I think everytime I paint Essie "Watermelon" onto my nails I have the urge to paint actual watermelons on my nails as well. Since it's finally (mostly) summer I went right ahead!

 

4. I got my Sephora Sun Favorites kit in the mail last week!! I wish I had noticed before I purchased this that most of the samples were of sunscreen. I mean, makes sense, right? 

 

 

5.  I call these my clubbing nails. Inspired by Leighannsays.

 

6. Walking from my neighborhood to downtown, and across Burnside to Ground Kontrol for $5 free play night. This was a long walk but I enjoyed seeing some cool graffiti (and street drinking) on the way there!

Evening Face Routine

Evening Face Routine by th13rteen featuring an origins skincare

 
     I picked up a few things in the last week that I'm working into my skincare routine. I've been having a hell of a time trying to get my spots under control this week but I finally went out and picked up the Origins Super Spot Remover so lets hope it lives up to its name!

     To start off with I just take a large cotton pad and squeeze some Bioderma solution onto it, wipe that all over my face and eyes and then do the same with a second cotton pad as well - SOMETIMES a third pad if I still cant get all of my makeup off - basically until the pad is white and I'm content with a clean face. To really get everything out of those pesky pores I've been loving the Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser. I keep hearing awful things about how bad foaming cleansers are for your skin but I just don't care. This Aveeno cleanser works really well with my acne prone face.

     Tonight I had to go back over my face with some Origins Super Spot Remover squeezed onto a q-tip, dab that onto any spots you're having. And here I would normally rave about how I'm loving something but tonight is the first night I am trying it out so I will get back to you on that! I haven't heard of anyone NOT loving the spot remover though...

     Next I dab on some Kiehl's avocado eye cream with the pad of my ring finger, under the eyes and on my lids as well. And then, after the spot remover gel has had a moment to dry I used another new product tonight - the Algenist Firming and Lifting Gel. This is a product that I didnt think anything of and had never even heard of it until the cashier at Sephora suggested I spend some of my rewards points. I almost picked up a serum - because I'm on a serum kick right now - but this was such a HUGE sample I couldnt help myself! While I was sitting bored waiting to pick up some takeout I discovered via help from Google on my phone that people LOVE this stuff! The regular jar contains 2 oz for $94!! Holy cow. So that means my little sample pot I got is worth $25. I'd say thats an awesome 'thank you' for shopping at Sephora often.

     Last but not least I rubbed some Korres lip butter on my lips and get ready for bed! Thats totally not too many things to use at night. Or not!

Fancy Nails!

Look how fancy I am today! I got my "3 Free Zoya" polishes recently from a promo they were doing where you pretty much paid shipping and got 3 polishes free. It was an awesome sale! I basically forgot I ordered them until they showed up in the mail. Isn't that the best - when you surprise yourself with presents? haha

Face of the Day * January 29th, 2013

Todays face is composed of just as many brushes as products. I actually made an effort to keep everything I used out on my desk and I realized I use one brush for every product I'm using. I really thought I was a "multi purpose" gal if that makes any sense but I guess I just love dirtying brushes.
